Corinphila Auctions AG Sale - 284

Worldwide Rarities Public Auction - May 27 - June 4, 2022

from 27 May to 4 June 2022 the Corinphila auction series 284 to 290 will be held in Zurich. Once again, a wide variety of top-quality national and international philatelic material will be offered. Please find enclosed a preview taking a closer look at some of the highlights.

Rarities of Switzerland and the whole world at the Corinphila auction series in Zurich (27 May to 4 June 2022)
With the fourth part of the sale of the collection "Switzerland - the ERIVAN Collection includes the probably most "legendary" item on offer is the "Louis Doret cover", the largest multiple of the Winterthur issue on cover and an absolute rarity of the highest class. Valuable rarities are also presented in the "Switzerland & Liechtenstein" special catalogue with a wide range of offerings from pre-philately to classical and modern issues. Things become a little more "modern" with the sale of the second part of the "Ikarus Collection - Swiss Airmail".

Philatelic treasures from Europe to South America, from England to the British Commonwealth
The "Ing. Pietro Provera Collection" (Part 4) also promises a successful continuation, which once again offers a magnificent range of European collecting areas - including Italy and France - as well as selected countries of South America. In the previous auctions the high standards with which the valuable stamps and covers were collected has already become clear. The cross-section presented here will certainly arouse enthusiasm. Examples include a beautiful - and just as rare - single franking of France's Cérès 1 fr. Vermilion of 1849 and a 30 c. brown of 1850 from Venice on a first day cover. Three exceptional special catalogues of material from the "BESANÇON" collection complete the material on offer. Lovers of philatelic material from the home of the postage stamp will get their money's worth with the lots from the "Great Britain 1840-1910" (Part 4) collection. One of the top items is a £1 stamp of 1882 with the rare Anchor watermark - the rarest catalogue number in unused condition. Collectors of Commonwealth issues can look forward to a sophisticated range of "British West Indies" (Part 3) as well as, for the first time, a "BESANÇON" special catalogue "British West Africa" (Part 1). The latter presents, among others, three 20 shilling stamps from the Old Calabar provisional issue- the rarest stamps of the British Commonwealth!
