Reverse with double ring 'Demerara' datestamp (Aug 8) of despacth, and front with manuscript '4' British credit and 'N.Y. Steamship' charge mark of arrival. 3369 image1866/71: 6 c. dull blue, perf. 10, a single example imperforate or separated by scissors on three sides, used on 1873 cover from Anna Catherina to Falkirk, Scotland endorsed 'per private Steamer Demerara', tied by bold strike of "BG / W4C" in black (Feb 28) with repeated strike on reverse (Proud D2). Framed GREENOCK / SHIP / LETTER in black on front with British '1½' credit in red manuscript alongside. Backrnstamped at Greenock and Falkirk (March 28).
