  • H.R. Harmer GPN, Inc. The 'Erivan' Collection of United and Confederate States Part X - April 30, 2024 “Everything has to come to an end, sometime.” So said L. Frank Baum in The Marvelous Land of Oz, echoing the sentiment first expressed by medieval poet Geoffrey Chaucer. And so it is with the Erivan Collection; with this, the tenth sale, the final chapter of one of the most extraordinary collections of the stamps and postal history of the United States will be written.

Those of you who have followed these sales since the inaugural auction in 2019 will be familiar with the common theme of storytelling that has weaved its way through the catalogues. Through some of the most renowned pieces of United States philately – from the Alexandria “Blue Boy” to the famed Pony Express cover to Abraham Lincoln – Erivan Haub shared the stories of a country he loved. Now, comes the final opportunity for collectors to continue the story of these exceptional artifacts, many of which have, at one time or another, graced the most famed collections of the twentieth century, from Ferrary and Burrus, to Dale-Lichtenstein and Boker.

Several of the most coveted rarities of the Erivan Collection are offered in this catalogue, many of which have not been seen on the market in decades. These iconic pieces, reflecting a range of collecting interests including Carriers and Locals, the Pony Express, Confederate States, Hawaii, and more, are offered here alongside missed opportunities from prior sales and a powerful selection of balance lots. Together they provide a once-in-a-generation opportunity for collectors to acquire long-awaited gems before they yet again disappear from the market.

The story of the Erivan Collection has been an opportunity to share the story of philately, through over thirty auctions, in five countries, on both sides of the Atlantic. Social media, radio, television, and local and national print media on multiple continents helped promote the enthusiasm and passion for our hobby that Erivan Haub represented.

With this sale, the last of the United States treasures of the Erivan Collection will find appreciative homes with new collectors. For all of us at the Global Philatelic Network, it has been an honor to share this collection with the world.
We wish you success with your bids.

  • Rasdale Stamp Company Worldwide Public Auction - May 18-19, 2024 Welcome to the second auction of 2024 containing nearly 1,100 lots. We have become very familiar with rural Illinois due to frequent trips to the central and southern part of the state. These trips have produced one of the bulkiest sales we have had in quite some time. So if mixed box lots are your interest, you will have plenty of opportunities. In addition to the mixed box lots, there are a range of country dedicated collection lots which are highlighted by the United States and Possessions, PRC, along with various Latin America countries. The United States singles are notable for probably the most items offered with graded certificates. The foreign singles encompass nice PRC and Italy.

Be patient if the shipping process is still a little slower than in the past as we are continuing to fine tune the new process. What we have discovered is that it is less expensive to send the smaller packages USPS priority flat rate. Additionally, by using a private logistics company the cost of the larger, freight type ships are almost cut in half. Thus, this is the way to go for shipments of 15 or more boxes. When possible, if bidding on large volume lots let us know if the freight method works for you. We thank you for your continued support. We do appreciate our customers and any suggestions you may have. Dynamic Internet Bidding at StampAuctionNetwork.

  • Sparks Auctions Sparks Auctions' Sale #50 - June 7-8, 2024

Welcome to our General Sale #50, our second of three general public auctions scheduled for 2024.

This sale offers our usual wide range of material, with quality Canada and provinces, British Commonwealth and worldwide singles, sets and collections. These include part three of the W.J. McGill collection of Scandinavia, a good offering of Canadian Federal and Provincial Revenues, several remarkable Wildlife Habitat Conservation lots and much more. Also of note is the second part of the Andrew Ellwood precancel collection.

Be sure to have a close look at our over 120 lots of postal history and postcards, part four of the Gordon Richardson early Manitoba postal history collection, as well as a fine selection of useful postal history from Canada and worldwide countries including those in Scandinavia. Also of note in this sale is another great offering of philatelic literature.

We are proud to continue our long-standing tradition of showing online photos or scans of every single lot, so you know what you are buying, especially if you are not able to do pre-sale viewing in person. This sale is accompanied by thousands of high-quality pictures, far more than we can show in the print catalogue, which can all be seen in full colour here on StampAuctionNetwork.com.

As usual, this sale will be conducted live on StampAuctionNetwork.com, also with a live floor, via telephone and other traditional bidding methods. A reminder that our buyer’s fee is still at 17%, and that all transactions are in Canadian dollars - a bonus for US customers and those using other currencies.

    Enjoy the sale!
