6140 image1862: Napolêon perf. 20 c. blue in a horizontal tête-bêche pair with an additional adjacent horizontal pair, a fresh multiple with a few clipped perfs., tied by fair Gros Chiffres '1203' lozenge to envelope from Coutras to Libourne, despatch cds (April 8, 67) alongside. Reverse with Paris - Bordeaux ambulant cds and arrival cds of the next day. Archive folds well away from the stamps, cover with some wear and tear, the multiple detached for inspection and hinged back. Nevertheless a desirable presentation of this rare tête-bêche. The tête-bêche pair signed 'Union intersyndicale d'expertise française' (U.I.F.E.P.) on reverse, the cover signed Roumet & Miro; cert. E. Diena (1980) Yvert = € 3'500 / Maury T22 = € 3'000. 6141 image1862: Envelope from Bayonne to Bilbao, bearing Napolêon perf. 40 c. orange, a horizontal pair and a single adhesive, fresh stamps with few usual nibbed perfs, tied by Gros Chiffres '359' numeral lozenge. Matching despatch cds (Oct 18, 63) as well as framed "AFFRANCHISSEMENT INSUFFISANT" handstamp in red alongside. Found to of the third weight rate and therefore taxed in Spain with '36' (c.) due. Reverse with BILBAO arrival cds (Oct 19). File folds well away from the adhesive, cover roughly opened at top with part of backflap missing, nevertheless an attractive cover. (Image 1) (Image 2)

6142 image1865 (June 13): Cover from Marseille to Napoli, bearing Napolêon perf. 80 c. rose, a fresh and fine adhesive, tied upon arrival by Italian "NAPOLI 13 GIU 65 M 8" cds in black and by two-line "PIROSCAFI MERCANTILI ESTERO" handstamp in red. Distribution 'IV' handstamp alongside. A most attractive double rate cover to Italy, despatched directly to a commercial vessel in Marseille, the adhesive not cancelled earlier than in Naples. 6143 image1868 (April 10): Envelope from Le Havre to New York, endorsed "Steamer Scotia" and bearing a combination franking of Napolêon perf. 80 c. rose and Napolêon laureated 80 c. rose, two fine adhesives with good perforation, each tied by Gros Chiffres '1769' lozenge and "NEW YORK PAID ALL APR 22" arrival cds. Cover struck on obverse by LE HAVRE despatch and framed PD as well as '6' (cents) due handstamp, both in red. 6150 image'Semaine sanglante' 1871 (May 23): Entire letter written in Clichy-la-Garenne on May 22, 1871 and despatched in St. Denis sur Seine. directed to Bar sur Aube, bearing Napolêon laureated 20 c. blue type II, tied by light Gros Chiffres '3568' numeral lozenge with matching despatch cds alongside, reverse with Bar sur Aube arrival cds of the same day.rnNote: Brought by a passeur from Clichy-la-Garenne out of Paris and despatched at the Bureau de Banlieu extra muros St. Denis it was sent to Bar sur Aube. Interesting entire, leaving Paris in the Bloody weak - 'Semaine sanglante', the last episode of the Commune de Paris. (Image 1) (Image 2)

6151 image1868: Napolêon laureated 20 c. milky blue Type II, the imperforated variety called 'Lebaudy', a fine and fresh example with good to large margins, tied by clear Convoyeur ligne 'P.LIL.' lozenge to entire letter. "GARE DE DOUAI 22 JUIL 69" despatch cds alongside. Extremely rare imperforated issue. Signed Calves Yvert = € 27'500 / Maury 29/IIg = € 26'000.rnNote: A small number of imperforated Napolêon laurê 20 c. in a milky blue shade were given by the postal administration to the Post Offices in the Department Nord and also to Nancy. Most of them served on a correspondence between the trading houses Bobillon in Douai and Lebaudy in Paris, respectively Valenciennes, thereby the name to this variety. Due to their shade they cannot be confused with the imperforate Rothschild issue. (Image 1) (Image 2)

Octagonal "PARIS (60) 3e / 8 JUIL. 69" despatch cds and framed "P.D." as well as an erroneously struck framed "P.P.", all in black and "LONDON EC PAID 9 JY 69" arrival cds in red alongside. A most interesting usage of outmost rarity as letters of the third exceptional collection 'levêe exceptionelle' are nearly unknown, here sent in addition abroad.rnNote: For each 15 min after the final date of collection a fee of 20 c. had to be paid in addition to the normal postage, in this case three times 20 c. plus the normal 1855 rate to the United Kingdom of 40 c., in total 100 c. 6153 image1867: Registered cover from Harbonnières to Hanges en Santerre, bearing a four-colour franking of Napolêon laureated 30 c. brown in combination with Cêrès 1871/72 5 c. green, 15 c. bistre Petits Chiffres and 25 c. blue type III, all in fine and fresh condition, tied by Gros Chiffres "4987" numeral lozenge, matching despatch (Sept 3, 74) cds and framed 'R' handstamp in red alongside. Reverse with two ambulant and arrival (Sept 4) cds's. Roughly opened on reverse, nevertheless a most attractive franking paying correctly 25 c. for a single rate cover plus 50 c. registration fee. 6154 image1867: Double rate Entire letter from Paris to Santiago de Chile, bearing a mass franking of Napolêon laureated 80 c. rose in a horizontal pair in mixed franking with Cêrès 1871 25 c. blue type I in a horizontal strip of four, all four adhesives with clichê errors, all tied by light Étoile de Paris '8' numeral obliterator, "PARIS R. D'AMSTERDAM 17 MARS 72" despatch cds, framed "P.P." and "LONDON PAID 18 MR 72" transit cds, both in red alongside. The entire was endorsed with private handstamps "VOIE DE SOUTHAMPTON" & "VOIE DE PANAMA" in blue and was taxed upon arrival in Chile with '25' (centavos) in red for the inland part of the journey.
