Lot 197 - 1864-79 Crown/CC Perf 12½ 4d carmine spectacular Double Print affecting the Upper 80% of the Stamp SG 56a, some characteristic rough perfs, part-original gum, Cat £30,000. Ex Lord Vestey: sold for £14,400. BPA Certificate (2007). A marvellous example of this spectacular error. [One of the most important stamp errors of Western Australia: nine examples, all unused, are recorded in private hands, of which two are defective. The almost identical Alfred Caspary/Cecil Walkey example - without gum - s....Estimate AU$25,000 Sold for AU$ 19,000
