1858 outer with Imperf 2d deep green (3 large margins, just shaved at left) & 4d pale blue untidily cancelled, 'PRE-PAID/31DE31/1858' cds of Hobart & similar boxed arrival backstamp of Launceston the next day both in red, minor blemishes. The 6d inland letter rate is scarce. It ended on 31.12.1858, so this is a Last Day Usage.

1854 Half-Lengths Campbell & Co 3d blue SG 24 block of 4 [15-16/21-22], an unusually large multiple with margins just clear - at upper-left - to good, the lower-right unit with Tuft of Grass above Second 'E' of 'PENCE', ironed-out vertical crease at left, some thins - including a concealed central hole on the lower-left unit - that don't detract from the very fine facial appearance, Cat £220+. A rare multiple.

1885-95 Stamp Duty 4d lilac Error of Colour SG 300b, unusually with clean-cut perforations, unused, Cat £14,000. A fresh example of this important and famous error. RPSofV Certificate (2001). [Geoff Kellow states at page 258 "There are nine unused copies known, including [two] pairs". In other words, only five unused singles have been recorded, of which at least two are defective. Gary Diffen's example with "part original gum" sold for £9600]
