1332 cTO imageWatermark Sideways Perf 11 2½d black & dull blue SG O17 Imperforate at Right (unlisted variety), CTO with 'PORT MORESBY/24AUG10/PAPUA' cds, no gum. A superb example of one of the most desirable Papua errors. Croaker states that the right-hand column of two sheets were affected, resulting in twelve error stamps. However, three examples of stamps with the printer's guide-marks are now known to exist, proving that three different sheets - eighteen stamps - were affected. Peter Troy's such example sold in our auction of 28.7.2009 for $14,950. Examples similar to this one from the central rows have sold for $10,925 (Fred Pearson 2006) and for $9775 (Tim Rybak 2008).
