1008 PSE image1894 (March 12) usage of German Eagle Postal Card 10pf red Michel VP25 Vorläufer to Germany with message headed "Herbertshöh, Bismarkarchipel/12 März 94" and very fine to superb strike of 'DEUTSCHE SEEPOST/NEU-/GUINEA-/ZWEIGLINIE/15 3/94' cds with code letter 'b' used on board the steamer 'Lübeck', Freiburg '-3.5.94' arrival cds at L/L, a couple of minor blemishes. The postcard rate to Germany was 10pf until reduced to 5pf from 1.5.1899. [The first overprinted Postal Cards were not issued until 1898]

1009 c image1894 (April 19) to "Unna in Westfalen/Germany" with return address "SS Lübeck/NDL" [= Nord-Deutscher Lloyd] and Germany Eagle 20pf blue tied by largely very fine strike of 'DEUTSCHE SEEPOST/NEU-/ GUINEA-/ZWEIGLINIE/15 3/94' cds with code letter 'b' used on board the steamer 'Lübeck', missent to the Netherlands Indies (!; "Westfalen" mis-read as 'Weltevreden') with 'BATAVIA' & 'WELTEVREDEN' squared-circle b/s both also of '19/4/1894', the mistake rectified & forwarded with Unna '19 5/94' arrival b/s, a few minor aging marks. Remarkably with no notation to signify that it had been missent almost 200km inland on Java.
