Garden City Philatelic Auctions Sale - 6

Public Auction No. 6 (Postal History) - March 28, 2026

Welcome to Garden City Philatelic Auctions’ March 28, 2026 Sale #6, “Postal History”! Apart from our usual offering of Canadian and worldwide (mostly single) covers and cards, this sale will feature:
  • Part two of the Rob Leigh extensive collection of early Canadian postal history, with an emphasis on quality postmarks, from the late 1700s up to the 1920s
  • Part one of the W.H. Brouse find, consisting of postal history belonging to the famous Toronto collector William Henry Brouse (1859-1925), whose main Canada stamp collection was sold decades ago, but one chest remained with his family, revealing hundreds of (mostly) 1860s Canadian covers, which will be offered publicly for the first time. Many of these covers have new ERD or LRD postmarks, and none have been studied for stamp re-entries, flaws, etc. These covers have only been discovered by his family a few years ago, and we are proud to have been chosen for their sale. All items from this find will be identified by “Brouse find”.
  • Part two of the Robin Clarke Hong Kong postal history collection, featuring Postage Due covers, “Y” and “C” Force postal history, a lovely collection of “to, through and from” Hong Kong ship mail.
  • A great selection of worldwide Ship Letters, listed by country of departure (many GB, Ireland and Scotland), so there will be postmark interest in both despatching and receiving countries.
  • Several “territorial” and early period Alberta postmark items.

All lots will be sold on Saturday March 28, 2026 and the sale starts at 08:00 AM Pacific time (11:00 AM Eastern time). Each lot is unreserved will start at only C$10.

Our auction is conducted in Canadian dollars, with a competitive 17% buyers’ fee. Registered users can place bids in advance of the sale by email, telephone or entering them directly in StampAuctionNetwork (recommended). Bidding can also be done live online via the SAN “AutoHammer” during the sale, or using an agent.
