SCOTIA" 33mm double closed arc postmark dated APR.27.1794 in a maroon shade. Interestingly, there is docketing in French indicating that this was signed on JAN.26.1794 and forwarded from London England on FEB.6.1794 by Robert Clarma (spelling?), which would prove that the Halifax postmark was a receiver and not a despatch. An interesting piece, with a lovely postmark.
