586 CVR 24, 26 image1861 10c Rate Cover to Canada West, mailed from Onondaga Mich. on OCT.14 (large c.d.s.) to Fonthill Canada West (OCT.16.1861 receiver). There is a red boxed “US PAID 10” handstamp, also franked with a horizontal strip of three of the 3c Washington (Scott #26) and a 1c blue Franklin perf 15½ with side scratches (Scott #24), all canceled by pen. Horizontal crease runs through one of the stamps, else very fine and attractive.

589 CVR 73 image1868 6c Rate Cover to Nova Scotia, mailed from Charlestown Mass. on DEC.18.1866 (double circle in red) to Halifax, Nova Scotia (DEC.22 receiver), franked with three (pair and single) 2c black Jackson issues (tied by quartered corks) paying a 6c rate. The left side of the left stamp in the pair appears to be missing its perforations and had to be separated by scissors.
