Rated 4d Sterling (handstamp in black) alongside a scarce “CTS / 10” handstamp applied in Nova Scotia, plus “C. 14” (cents) manuscript rate to the interior of Nova Scotia. Effective MAY.1.1862, the rate from Newfoundland to Halifax was 10c and to the interior of NS another 13½c, quite often rounded off to 14c. A very fine and scarce cover for the rate specialist.
