63 CVR   image1849 Two Crowned Paid at Quebec Postmarked Covers, first is a cover mailed DEC.14.1849 to Malvern England with Birmingham JAN.3.1849 green transit and Great Malvern JAN.3 transit in red. Second is a folded letter mailed on JAN18.1849 to Bytown (JAN.21 receiver on back). Both have "Quebec L.C" despatches in red and crowned "PAID / AT / QUEBEC" handstamps in red, very fine.

64 CVR   image1850 Napierville (L.C.) to Brockvillle Cover, mailed on DEC.12.1830 (large double circle in red) to Brockville (1829-Type receiver) via Montréal (DEC.13 transit). Upon its arrival in Brockville, an over-zealous postal clerk added about 20 different postmarks to the cover, including the rare Unionville U.C. 1831 supplemental order (only one strike known in the period that post office was open 1831-1833). All postmarks, including the three used to actually mail this cover are in red, very fine and striking.

65 CVR   image1853, 1861 Two Stampless Covers to Scotland, first is a folded letter written at Halifax on DEC.21.1853 mailed to Aberdeen with Halifax tombstone postmark, with "PKT LETTER / PAID / LIVERPOOL" tombstone dated JAN.3.1854 and JAN.4 Aberdeen receiver in green. Second is a folded cover mailed from Montréal on MAR.28.1861 (tombstone in red) to Glasgow, with "Glasgow Packet / Paid / AP 13 / 1861" receiver handstamp, endorsed "per Bohemian via Portland" with "PAID 6d Stg" handstamp in red. 67 CVR   image1856 Hamilton Oval "PAID 123" Railway Handstamp on Cover, a "Great Western Railway" cover mailed from Hamilton on APR.13.1856 (double broken circle free strike) to Auburn NY. There is a red "CANADA / PAID 10 Cts" handstamp and an oval "PAID / 123" handstamp denoting that the postage fee was charged to box 123, either at the Hamilton G.W.R. Post Office or the main Hamilton P.O.. This postmark is still unlisted in Gray., but Cloutier lists only 3 examples recorded, one of which is not clear and may not read "123". 68 CVR   image1856 Hamilton Oval "PAID / G.W.R." Railway Handstamp on Registered Cover, a "Great Western Railway" cover mailed from Hamilton on JAN.30.1858 (double broken circle free strike) to Toronto (JAN.31 receiver). There is a red "PAID 3" handstamp, with a manuscript "Paid & registered / D.S." and an oval "PAID / G.W.R." handstamp (the LRD for this) denoting that the postage fee was charged to the G.W.R., either at the Hamilton G.W.R. Post Office or the main Hamilton P.O.. This postmark is listed in Gray as # RY-66 (RF "F"), and Cloutier lists only 4 examples recorded. Very fine and rare. 69 CVR   image1856 Three Rivers L.C. “Ruggles” Postmark on a Folded Letter to Toronto, mailed on MAY.1.1856 with MAY.3 receiver, rated “FREE” handstamp in red, fine-very fine.

70 CVR   image1857 Hamilton "Ruggles" Postmark on Cover, a very fine strike dated MAR.18.1857 (the ERD for this postmark) on a stampless cover rated "3" handstamp to Thorold (MAR.9 receiver on back), crease and a few faults on back, still very fine. This is a great example of how "Ruggles" or "Changeling" postmarks were supposed to look like, as it has all of its rim and indicia filled-in; these quickly deteriorated with time. Ex Scrimgeour and ex Cloutier exhibit.
