Spink USA Sale - 25018

The "KMC" Collection of Stamps and Covers of Mexico Part II - October 15, 2025

The sale comprises 413 lots spanning the classics through to modern rarities. Highlights include the 1856 “Hidalgos” First Issue with over 100 lots, featuring multiples, scarce districts, and the centerpiece of the auction: a remarkable cover franked with seventeen examples of the 4r. Another outstanding section is the 1872 “Garbancitos” Issue, presenting one of the most complete district collections offered in years, and providing an excellent opportunity either to begin a specialized collection or to enhance advanced holdings. The classic period is further enriched by stampless mail, an exceptional “Eagles” section with over 40 lots, “Maximilians,” and later “Hidalgos.”

The modern era is also strongly represented with rarities throughout, with “Medallions,” “Numerals,” rare “Mulitas” essays, “Pro-Universidad” issues, important airmail pieces, scarce “Secretaría” watermarks and “Exporta”.

Proofs and essays are a notable strength, appearing throughout the sale from 1864 to the 1940s.

This unusually varied and comprehensive auction also includes significant group lots.
