White wove 1st Period on piece, used with a fantastic wreath cancel dated January 23, 1867 ($250). Among other better examples, we find the uncommon 1r. The 1868 cover from Tepic is very attractive, displaying a lovely cancel. Scott Guadalajara 4, 13,15, 20, 23, 25-28, 38, 42, 47c, 49, $800 for off cover singles., , (Image) (Image2) (All Images)

223   imageMexico. 1867 "Hidalgos" Gothic. Mexico District Stampless registered front from Mexico City to Veracruz, dated November 22, 1867, and struck in transit at Puebla on November 24. According to postal regulations, upon receipt of the package or letter, the front was to be cut out, and the addressee was to sign the back, and then the front was returned to the office of origin, where it was kept for two years as proof of delivery before being destroyed. This item should have been affixed with an eight reales stamp to cover the certification charge. However, it likely did not use stamps because it was sent just as the new Mexico Gothic stamps were being distributed to the Mexico District office, traveling instead with a sello negro. At most only five known. (Image)
