Blue strip of four, cut into at left), Culiacán with pair and 2r. Green, and another with vertical pair signed Lamy. The cover is somehow aged and damaged. The stamps are in good condition throughout with a number of three and four margins. They include cancels from Culiacán, Sinaloa and Mazatlán. Red, mainly attractive margins, slightly cut into at top right corner, tied by c.d.s. on registered cover front from Mexico City to Lagos, which contained lottery tickets intended for sale in that small destination town, dated November 9, 1856 and carried at single rate. A very scarce example of registered mail, as the front, signed by the addressee to confirm receipt, was required to be destroyed by the post office after two years. Scott 4., (Image)

Red, two stamps, cut tight and slightly into in places, affixed very close together on a single-rate registered cover front from Mexico City to Celaya, used to send lottery tickets to be sold in the destination town, dated September 6, 1856, with rhomboid of dots cancel tying the franking, with this mute cancel being the earliest used in Mexico City. A very attractive example of the few surviving registered mails, as postal regulations required these fronts, used as signed proof of delivery, to be destroyed by the post office after two years. Blue, group of three covers: The first two have the Mexico district overprint, one addressed to Veracruz (April 10th 1861) bearing a strip of four tied by c.d.s.'s, with three close to good margins; the other is a colorful cover franked at 1½ real first rate (in combination with 1r.) on the reverse of a price list sent to Sayula. The third is an entire letter with a pair cut into at bottom left, dated April 29, 1861 (nine days after the issue was demonetized), the MEPSI cert states "no apparent overprints".
