121 Used   imageMexico. 1856 "Hidalgos". Various Districts ½r. Blue, group of ten covers, two cover fronts and 69 used stamps. Additionally, there is a very attractive "Across the Lines" cover front franked by a 2r. green, as well as a postal fraud cover bearing a reused, cancelled 2r. green. The covers are appealing, showing single usages, pairs, or strips of four from the districts of Veracruz, Querétaro, Mexico, and Guanajuato. One front features a strip of four from Durango. The stamps include a dramatic double printing with a 1996 MEPSI certificate, as well as examples from the following districts: Córdova, Chalco, Pachuca, Tampico, Jalapa (one strip accompanied by a 1995 PF certificate), Durango, Querétaro, Apam and Chiapas. Most stamps have three to four margins. Various Districts Group of classic issues, including two attractive covers, 1856 and 1872 Hidalgos, and six 1867 and 1872 stamps. The covers comprise a 1856 2r. Green from Acapulco to Mazatlán dated July 12, 1857, and a 25c. Red Cuernavaca (#14-73) from Miatatlán, both with full margins. The stamps are a 4r. Gothic Rose and the rest are 1872 Hidalgos 6c. Various Districts Group of 19 splits, represented on nine very attractive covers and entire letters, as well ten on piece, featuring an attractive variety of cuts. All but one of the covers are from the 1856 issue, including seven bisects of the 4r. Red (Guanajuato, Zacatecas, Durango y Morelia) and one 8r. Lilac quadrisect (Morelia), as well as 1861 quadrisect of 8r. black on Brown from Zacatecas. The splits on pieces are all but one from 1856: three 4r. Red bisects and six 8r. Lilac quadrisects; the highlight being a rare combination of 4r. Red bisect and two ½r. Blue. The 1861 issue is represented on piece with a rare triangular bisect of 4r. Black on Yellow from Tabasco.
