274   imageMexico. 1872 "Hidalgos". Ixtlahuaca and Toluca 12c. Blue imperforate (#46-72), margins all around, tight at right, used and on piece with probably Ixtlahuaca postmark. This appears to be an "Habilitado" (a stamp bearing a second overprint beside an earlier one). A highly uncommon example, as Ixtlahuaca was not an independent district at the time of this issue. It is likely that the stamp was originally sent from Toluca, and that the Ixtlahuaca postmaster mistakenly applied an outdated overprint. 2025 MEPSI certificate. Scott 94; unlisted by NF. 275   imageMexico. 1872 "Hidalgos". Ixtlahuaca and Toluca 25c. Red imperforate (#46-72), with full margins, used on piece and bearing a handstamp, likely from Ixtlahuaca. This appears to be an "Habilitado" (a stamp with a second overprint applied beside a previous one). Paper fold not detracting from this very rare usage, as Ixtlahuaca was not an independent district during this issue. It is likely the stamp was sent from Toluca and mistakenly overprinted by the Ixtlahuaca postmaster using an older handstamp. 2025 MEPSI certificate. Scott 95; unlisted by NF.
