Scarlet, vertical strip of three with "Secretaría de Hacienda" revenue watermark and 10 ½ perforation, canceled with Santa Rosalía c.d.s. dated March 3, 1936. Bottom centering. According to Garcia Prada only about 20 examples are known, although this strip may not have been in his calculations, and this is likely the largest and only multiple known, making this one of the most significant and desirable semi-modern rarities of Mexico. 2025 MEPSI certificate. 390 Proof   imageMexico. Later Issues. 1935 Amelia Earhart 20c. Lake, showing misplaced "Muestra" overprint appearing as double, good centering, lightly hinged with o.g. and a very fine impression. To our knowledge, this is the only recorded example of the double overprint, out of 480 issued. 2024 MEPSI certificate says it is not a double overprint, but a shift. Scott C74 var. 394   imageMexico. Later Issues. 1935 Amelia Earhart 20c. Red, and Official Airmail 40c. Brown, on very attractive flown registered cover from Mexico City to New York, dated May 8th 1935, autographed by Amelia Earhart and addressed to her husband G.P. Putnam, additionally franked with U.S. 3c. and 15c. postage. Crease not affecting the stamps. In 1935 Amelia Earhart visited Mexico and the government issued an airmail stamp for the mail carried in the return flight. Only 300 stamps issued and another 480 were overprinted "Muestra" as specimens. It is believed than only 35-40 covers were ever carried in this flight. Extremely rare. 2025 MEPSI certificate. Scott C74, CO14, $4,000 as used off-cover. (Image) (Image2) (All Images)
