Sets, Singles, Postal History & Collections of the World - May 24-26, 2012

This sale offers over 3000 lots from over 130 consignors in one of the most diverse offerings of any auction we have ever held. It features outstanding consignments and specialized collections including (in no particular order) the Robert C. Hoge Collection of U.S. Possessions Part 2, the Dr. Louis T. Call collections of Postal Stationery of the World and U.S. featuring Nesbitt Entires and U.S Railway markings, the William Sandrik International Gold Medal Exhibit of Disinfected Mails, the Robert R. Johnson (of San Francisco) US #1s & #2s, the Dr. Donald L. MacPeek collection featuring Latin America, the "Vera Cruz" collection of Mexico and an India used in Zanzibar collection. As always, we'll also be offering a wide variety of US stamps and postal history, strong Great Britain and Middle East material, with as always a major group of nice collections and large lots.

Thursday features strong United States with strength right through the Revenues, containing over one hundred #1s and #2s, followed by postal history with strong Boston related, major intact Indian Territorial collection, NYFM and spectacular Railroad postal history close out the first day. Friday offers the U.S. Possessions including excellent Hawaii and Philippines, British Commonwealth with nice selections of BNA including Canada and India used in Zanzibar, the Foreign area shows greatest strength in China, Germany, Iran, Mexico (100+ lots) and Saudi Arabia (150+ lots). Saturday begins with the William Sandrik Disinfected Mails collection (140+ lots) featuring many rarities with strength in Hawaii, airmails featuring classic China and featuring over 150 lots of Worldwide postal stationery, it concludes with our famous "Collections and Various" including many intact major collections and estates.
