Lifetime accumulation with about 750 to 800 large hawid cards, virtually all well filled housed in 5 boxes, 3 large and 2 small with four or five strips per card, mint and used from the classics imperfs onwards. This was formed by a wannabe dealer who for decades stripped collections from auctions purchases. as well as collections bought privately. This forms a very diverse range of material with 1000s of complete series, mint and used, often blocks of four with much stacked stamp on stamp, blocks on , blocks, making this an interesting and challenging viewing and not at all easy to value. However a random inspection clearly shows that at $5 a card, this will have huge positive results as the potential here is enormous, once organised chronologically. Then this will then easily run into many tens of thousands of dollars, with better areas include pro-juventutes galore from the forerunners in quantity, as well as lots of the better early series including many superb used blocks of 4, as well as the1950s, also lots of good airmails with these from the 1930s including the key values. virtually all superb &lsquo,à, la Suisse&rsquo, sock on the nose strikes. Also some of the 19th/early 20th century, there are some real beauties here with the postmarks, where the Scott catalogue figure is almost, if not irrelevant. Also, plenty of back of the book, m/s from 1936, better tete-beche with interpanneaus, the offices to 10fr, general non-Scott listed, etc etc. The most pleasant feature is that there is hardly anything here in excess quantity, generally a dozen or so and often that is in the better material. There are many cards here that will easily sell for 100s of $s each and few that would sell for less than $30 to $40 each, the accumulation is that good. , Ideal for a dealer looking to replenish stocks that will easily break down well for EBay, APS circuit books or shows. Thos is an opportunity that should not be missed, dealers make sure this is on your list of lots to view, you will not be disappointed.
A large album housing around 400 mint and used soldier stamps alphabetically organised.. A wonderful collection of over 900 mint and used stamps including postal history, organized by Scott numbers in on large volume with many errors and varieties, besides the many permutations of overprints and surcharge colors, as well as scarce regular issues. For example, the 2m on 5pi brown with piaster surcharge at left instead of right (#3 var) mint, the 2m on 5pa on 10pa green with 2pa part of surcharge omitted (#4 var) used and inverted "2's" on block of four used on piece, then the 4m on 10pa green with new value omitted mint (#9 var), #1 and #16 together on company-headed cover, followed by the 20pa carmine rose tughra mint (#21), 1pi violet and black with inverted o/p (#47 var), 2pi green and black battleship used (#57), on to high values with the 10pi dark violet palace mint (#73), the 25pi olive green mosque used (#76) and the 25pi carmine on straw sentry and shell mint (signed) and used (#79). Then the triangular "Hakum Soria Arabie" o/ps with inverts including on revenue stamps on large part covers, 1920 regular issues inc. 5m rose tete-beche pair in corner block of four mint (#85a) and imperf singles mint (signed) and used unpriced in Scott, with further interesting non Scott listed postage due overprints of large "T" in circle on five different denominations of the regular issues, etc. This is a pioneering collection in a field where the Scott specialised catalog is as yet not expanded. On each issue the colors of the overprints have been classified by the collector, not only with black and violet, but also blue, green, vermilion, pink, etc. and then the different colors on the perforation varieties where they exist, again not mentioned in Scott. Some of these permutations are clearly scarce, if not rare and this thorough survey represents an opportunity for the Syrian specialist looking for the best.
