Collection on old-time album pages and formed 80 years ago, with about 50 mostly used stamps all different, starting with over a dozen triangulars inc. 1d on blued paper superb with generous margins all round, two shades of 6d inc. gray lilac shade with three margins, the brighter shade with cds cancel though margin just touching at bottom right. Then three shades of the 1/- green including the 1859 deep dark green with margins almost all round, just touching for 1mm by the top point (SG#8b), followed by the woodblock provisionals, the 1d rose with faults nevertheless clearly a collectible example and the 4d milky blue appearing sound with two wide margins and just touching in places at bottom. Then the Hope seated defins with a comprehensive showing including the 1874/76 one penny surcharges with the 1d on 6d lilac used (#32) and 1d on 1/- green mint (#33), etc. Though there are occasional faults here as to be expected, the condition is well above the average and a pleasing viewing of Cape classics. ,(photo) (Image 1)
