Engaging collection with 100s of stamps inc New Republic, predominantly Transvaal, especially the imperf "coat of arms" issues including various multiples, followed by an extensive study of the V.R. overprints, perf as well as imperf, copiously written-up categorising the different forgeries by for example Spiro, Goldner, Otto, Panelli, Pirl, Fournier, etc, etc. The imperf "postzegel" are extremely dangerous and there is much here that will challenge even the most advanced collector or dealer of this BC area. There are later 19th century issues to high value and throughout the collection, genuine is present for comparison purposes. Also seen a literature/collateral section. The stamps are housed in one bulging album replete with write-up and plenty of other research material, almost impossible to assemble again in such depth. An opportunity for the specialist, offered intact as received.

Collection of well over 1500, perhaps 2000 stamps of Caribbean islands, from 19th century to the 1980s, housed in a Scott speciality album with much parallel mint and used, very often displayed one on top of the other. We note Jamaica with useful QV perf pineapple, crown CC and crown CA, later QV to 2/-, KGV to 2/- used, 1919/21 pictorials to 3/- mint, 1922 10/- dark myrtle used, 1935 silver jubilees mint and used, KGVI 1938/51 pictorials series complete mint and used, etc, continuing through QEII with most series complete both mint and used, plus war stamps, officials and even a little non Scott listed with the red cross biplane label. Other countries include Nevis inc. early issues, St. Christopher with several different QV to 6d, St. Kitts virtually complete  ,late KGV onwards and St. Lucia from 1863 1d lake used onwards, again with good completion. While there are a small faults among the earlier issues, the condition however is generally far above that normally seen in the classics. Completely uncataloged and well filled, dealers put this on your list of BC lots to view.
A fascinating in-depth collector&rsquo,s collection housed on quadrille pages in two albums, extremely well-researched with an extensive write-up the traditional way in ink. There are approaching 3000 stamps from the first Sher Ali tigers through to the 1930s, with each issue in detail, including impressive back of the book, as well as occasional covers. Highlights include tigers identified by plate inc. 1871 1 shahi and 1 abasi black both unused (#1, 3), solid inner circle 1871s inc. different types of the 1 shahi unused (#5), 1873 1sh unused block of 8 with types identified (#11), through to the 1870s small tigers, categorised by the printings, as well as places of usage. Then there are 100s of the so called watercolor handstamp issues of the 1880s with painstaking coverage of the permutations of paper types and shades with lots of multiples, including the 1ab green on rose pair (#175). Then follows the1891 registration stamps including scarce examples used on piece and block of 28 mint, followed by 100s of the 1892 mosque gates with postmark studies including usages on cover and even some highly unusual proofs,  ,such as large octagonal design with stars amongst the script in black on red, etc. An excellent section then follows on the Emir Habibullah Khan issues with some seldom seen material including scarce zig-zag roulette types on the 1ab green used (#200), the 2ab deep blue tete-beche gutter block of 12 mint showing increasing blurring of the impression towards a distinct double impression on at least one stamp (#198a), then the 1 rupee with many shades inc. blue green mint block of 8 (#199a), followed again by 1 rupee perf mint and used (#204), etc. This leads through to the 1909/19 coats of arms with several interesting covers, 2ab green horizontal pair imperf between unpriced in Scott (#208b) in strip of four, etc, followed by the large royal star issues of 1920 inc. two examples of the 10pa rose on cover (#214) and the 30pa green mint (#216), 1921 30pa green with several tete-beche pairs in both shades, through to the 1924/27 independence issues inc. 10pa dark blue imperf block of four mint (#224a), etc. The later issues to 1928/30 continue in the same level of detail, with a plethora of errors, constant plate varieties, tete-beche pairs, imperf between blocks, proofs, revolutionary government control mark handstamps, including a range of used with one on cover back, finishing in 1930. The back of the book is also strong with revenues not listed in Scott, the 1909 officials inc. mint blocks, used pair with extra perfs diagonally through center and unusual examples with revolutionary control marks, as well as 1909 parcel posts inc. 1kr olive gray imperf block of six with papermaker&rsquo,s watermark (#Q2a unpriced in Scott) and local pin-perf block of 15, Old Habibia College parcel posts inc. 10pa chocolate tete-beche block of four mint (#Q10a), the 1924 5r lilac mint pair (#Q16), etc, etc. Collections of Afghanistan with this depth are very infrequently encountered on the market today, not only with great 19th century but also significant value in the first few decades of the 20th century. This is an opportunity to acquire one man's collection replete with scarce material. The condition overall is far better than normally encountered, please study photoplates to get a flavor of what is here. ,(photo). (Image 1) (Image 2) (Image 3) (Image 4) (Image 5)
