 ,A very attractive, well written-up exhibition quality collection with dozens of scarce items, beginning with 2 rectangular India paid, one black and one red sent to Paris and Glasgow respectively from the first half of the 19th century. Also, a delightful too late cover sent out from Vallore Gaidapet to London and re-directed to Guernsey with QV postal stationery 1885, 2 annas and 6 pies yellow, followed by further QV combination postal stationery and stamps, even scarce South Eastern Railway Sorting Office cancel on cover with QV ½, anna blue from Shalapore to Poona, quite delightful and further QV postal history inc sea post offices, same with EDVII, followed by postmarks in Zanzibar with values to 1rp grey, etc. Also seen EDVII with railway station cancels, leading on to KGV with scarcesteam boat Park Fair fancy cancel Madras, various paquebots, seldom seen I.E.F. censors, the same in an extraordinary combination , with France sower definitive, leading on to airmails inc scarce Karachi to Lahore airmail service KGV, even Bombay to Darwin illustrated cover through to KGVI inc RAF censors with propaganda seal of victory, Madras War Fund, as well as further censors, showing the circuitous routes taken for registered to America during WW2, also WW2 KGVI 14 annas censor aerogramme and equally interesting commercially used covers with the remarks in black and violet &lsquo,not opened by censor&rsquo, ,etc. Collection goes on to Gandhi inc 12 annas commercially used with 2 annas British India KGVI to make the correct 14 annas rate to Czechoslovakia, certainly in today&rsquo,s market, an important Gandhi cover, ending with a most remarkable round the world cover, with various red manuscript &lsquo,not known&rsquo, and black rectangular strikes &lsquo,inconnu&rsquo, accompanied by more than a dozen postmarks on an attempted registered delivery. A great collection, with important items, a delightful and enjoyable viewing awaits anyone interested in Indian postal history.

Highlights include 1895 high values to 5r blue and purple superb used, KEVII 3r brown and green mint never hinged, KGV 1911/13 with 25r used, 1926/33s with 15r and 25r used, leading on to 1931 New Delhi and 1935 silver jubilee series complete mint, KGVI 1937s mint to 10r, 25r used, 1948 Gandhi series complete mint, etc, through to the back of the book with 1929 first airposts complete mint, 1900 C.E.F. overprints complete mint, officials inc. KEVII to 5r mint, 1937/39 "service" to 10r mint, 1945 victory blocks of 4, etc, etc. A useful collection, please inspect.
Wonderful collection on vintage specialised album pages for issues up to the 1890s, with enormous potential for the specialist with knowledge. We note Alwar with interesting 1/4a blue imperf on gummed paper, Bamra 1890 series complete mint inc. small "p" in "postage" varieties on the higher denominations, Bhor 1879 handstamped issues complete, Bhopal with a well-filled page inc. 1878 1/2a red (#10) used with wide margins and appearing perforated in places and 1881/89 embossed types complete (#13/17) with the 4a yellow used, etc, followed by excellent Hyderabad inc. 1871 2a green (#3) used and officials including 1/2a brown with red o/p mint (#1) signed, 1a dark brown with black o/p (#15) used, etc, extensive Faridkot with only one empty space on the page, Poonch range including 1a red on lavender paper unused (#23), Nowanuggur with perforated 1d ultra with unusla specimen o/p and then the 1877/88 series complete, etc. Other states present include Rajpeepla complete mint, Jind with a good range inc. wove paper perf 1/2a yellow mint (#19), Sirmoor with no empty spaces, Soruth, etc, etc. The circular watercolor/oil color types of Jammu also should be investigated, as well as the , Kashmir, etc. Offered intact as received, this collection was formed 80 years ago and there will be many discoveries to be made when examined with the modern Gibbons catalog. Condition on the whole far better than normally encountered. Please study thoroughly, you will not be disappointed.
Old-time collection of a few dozen stamps on vintage album pages, starting with the 1883 "postage" over lion types inc. 1/2ct magenta mint (SG#8), 4cts pink perf 12 mint (#6), the 8cts surcharges scarce vertical and horizontal used (#2/3), 1883 high values inc. $1 scarlet mint (#5), "and Revenue" o/p on 10cts blue mint (#15), perf 14 3cts and 5cts surcharges mint (#18/19), then the "postage" under ship types including the 1/2ct magenta perf 12 unused (#34), followed by "postage and revenue" series with high values including 50cts blue and $1 red with revenue cancels, $2 green mint (#48), 1889 $5 purple mint (#49), through to the 1890 2cts on 25cts indigo mint (#51). If you specialise in North Borneo, this collection is not to be missed.
