Kelleher and Rogers Limited Sale - 44

Autumn General Sale, featuring the "Greenleaf" Collection of Liberated Areas - October 10-12, 2024

Part I: Autumn General Sale of China & Asia (Lots 1-581)
Hong Kong: Friday, Oct. 11, 2024, starting 10:00 A.M. (10:00)
New York: Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024, starting at 10:00 P.M. (22:00)

Nearly 600 lots to tempt both the general and specialist collector, starting with nearly 90 lots of coins and banknotes, followed by our expected selection of stamps and covers from Local Posts and Empire through PRC—and beyond to 19th century Japanese covers, Korean presentation sheets, and more. Highlights include extensive postal card uses of the Empire and early Republic, Kiautschou Boxer Rebellion postal history, attractive Liberated Areas including the Bo Tsing Local Issue and a dramatically misprinted Nanjing Road Incident souvenir sheet…along with multiple opportunities to obtain those iconic PRC sets and singles missing from your collection.

Part II: The "Greenleaf" Collection of the Liberated Areas of the People's Republic of China (Lots 1001-1197)
Hong Kong: Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024, starting at 10:00 A.M. (10:00)
New York: Friday, Oct. 11, 2024, starting at 10:00 P.M. (22:00)

Representing a lifetime’s effort, the “Greenleaf” collection presents one of the finest holdings of Liberated Areas material we have had the honor to offer. Each Area is represented, with many difficult-to-find items present, as well as a solid number of postally used examples. We note two Running Soldiers (one mint, one exquisitely canceled), two Grenade Throwers (mint and used), innumerable overprints and surcharges, a mint $300 First District of Central China (Yang #EC360), multiples, booklet panes, Parcel Posts, and much more. This exceptional collection was clearly a labor of love, now ready to pass to the next generation of collectors.
