549 cover image1914 (Sept. 14), Cover from Tsingtau to Tsinanfu, endorsed "Feldpostbrief", showing "Tsingtau/Deutsche Post" c.d.s., dated "14.9.14.4 5N", arrived on Sept. 20, 1914, carried to Tsinanfu by hand with arrival six days later, the first day of the siege of Tsingtau, Very Fine and rare, signed Bothe BPP,

Japanese Forces captured the Railway in the vicinity of Kaumi, and Tsingtau came under siege, effectively ending mail service on the Shantung Railway. As a result, mail was carried by hand to Tsinanfu and then by the Chinese railways for transport by neutral ships.
