576 cover imageEarly to Mid-18th Century Letter, an attractive item, on handmade mulberry paper measuring in full approximately 8 x 13 inches (204 x 330 mm), with address here at top left; the paper still showing evidence of the multiple folds required to fit it into the foot postman's official bamboo carrying case (the letter's "sent" size approximately 105 x 70 mm); black seal holds down the three strips of paper used to tie the letter closed (prior to addressing, as that text crosses one of the strips); text appears slightly truncated at right but don't quote us on that; a few natural voids in the paper, otherwise sound and a wonderful early postal history item, Very Fine.
