1840 1d. intense black, plate 5, lettered "SC" tied by red Maltese Cross to small paper lace Valentine envelope, used from Mallow, Ireland to Omagh via Dublin, with "MALLOW/FE 17/1841" despatch c.d.s. in black and red Dublin dater on the reverse. The Penny Black is slightly cut into at upper left and has a very small scissors cut in the lower left corner, otherwise good to large margins. Stamp and envelope (paper lace fully preserved) are in extraor.... Sold for EUR 3,000
