Major award of the Reichshauptstadt 1941 This print on baryte paper comes from the estate of the steel printer Richard Rackelmann. Rackelmann had engraved the original die for a commemorative stamp of 1941 “Großer Preis der
Reichshauptstadt“ (Major award of the “Reichs“Capital). This is the only stamp issued for a horse race which does not depict a horse motif. The drawing of the Brandenburg Gate was designed by Erich Meerwald. This print is unique. Baryte paper bears a
special mineral covering. This covering enables extremely fine prints to be taken from the engraved die. (Image)

Major award of Germany for Three-year-old horses 1941 Erich Meerwald designed this impressive commemorative stamp in honour of the horse racing week of the “Blue Ribbon“ in Hamburg. The stamp was sold out in a short time. The motif was
extremely popular. None of the 7 issued commemorative stamps for equestrian sport achieved the sales figures of the “Blue Ribbon 1941“ issue. This print from the finished original die is due to its impeccable quality UNIQUE. (Image)
