The March 2011 Collector's Series Sale -
March 24-25, 2011
We are pleased to present another of our highly popular "Collector's Series
Sales". These auctions are designed to appeal to a broad range of buyers,
whether they are a beginner, intermediate or experienced collector and/or
dealer. Buyers of gem quality U.S. mint or used stamps will find our usual
complement of stamps to satisfy their sophisticated collecting tastes.
Buyers of foreign stamps and covers will find an unusual and varied
selection of lots. Also included, are our popular Worldwide Large Lots &
Collections.
Some of the many collections featured are:
The Estate of Allan S. Fox Specialized 1851-56 One Cent Blue
Imperforates. An exceptional offering of 102 lots to begin the sale.
Containing many important types, positions, varieties, multiples and covers
– often in premium condition. Most of the material not having been on the
market for over 25 years.
A Gentleman’s Collection of Premium Quality United States Stamps. Many
of the higher quality U.S. stamps in the sale come from a private
collector’s holding of stamps selected for their outstanding overall eye
appeal. The vast majority of which are accompanied by certificates.
The Estate of Daniel A. Brouillette. Further offerings of both stamps
and postal history from this well-known philatelist’s lifelong collecting
endeavors.
The Mario Villarejos Collection of Bolivia Stampless Covers
A gold-medal collection of rare stampless cover markings from both the
Colonial period and the Republic. Both individual lots and a valuable
balance of the collection.
The Bromberg Holding of Mexico. An impressive offering of 65 lots from
a single old-time holding of Mexico and contains many remarkable blocks and
sheets never before seen – including a spectacular hoard of 100 complete
mint never-hinged sets of the famous 1935 University series.
As with all Spink Shreves auctions, bidders may participate in the auction
– live on the Internet – during the sale. Please see our website for
