IV, positions 1-10R1L, an amazing franking of a horizontal pair and a strip of eight, comprising the entire top row of plate 1 late - right pane, position 4 being Ty. II, the only position on the plate of 200 that was not recut, nine of the stamps display double transfers, the stamps are quite well margined considering how difficult it would have been to cut the strip, some stamps with margins just touching or slightly cutting the design, strong rich color and impressions, all tied by most unusual individual "crossroad" postmarks and by matching "Goliad, Tex./Apr 5" c.d.s., to large portion of a courthouse cover which has been refolded at the edges to give it a better overall facial appearance, it has been suggested that the 10c in postage represented a "book rate", regardless this is an extraordinary franking utilizing one of the most important complete rows from plate 1 late.
