BOLIVIAN STAMPLESS COLLECTION
Lot Symbol CatNo. Lot Description CV or Estimate
695 c   Interesting balance of the stampless cover exhibition collection, 149 items, the vast majority of which are covers or folded letters, but there are also some documents, all still on the original exhibit pages with write-ups, there are a few colonial items, but much of the value is in the early republic, with a wide range of town and other handstamps, mostly straight line, but also includes more ornate designs, the documents in particular have some of the more fancy and attractive markings, many of which would be worth several hundred dollars each if they were on cover, plus there are some in the later period (1870s to 1920s), these being small towns that did not have stamps, this period has some of the rarest items in the collection, with a number being noted as the only recorded example on the exhibit pages, mixed condition but all show the markings or important features well; this balance forms and excellent basis on which to start an important collection of this truly challenging field.
