Worldwide Internet/Mail Sale - January 28, 2026

Welcome to our January 28th sale to kick off the New Year. This is our 378th Auction since we started running our sales back in 1972. We are continuing our tradition of offering bidders a wide range of worldwide lots. There are over 7,200 lots to choose from. Here are some of the highlights:

  • Extensive Canada singles and sets with many key items in the 19th Century including a used 12 Penny Black, Scott #3 (see Lot 5060). Don't miss the many 20th Century imperforate pairs and modern errors and varieties.
  • An excellent section of France and French Offices and French Colonies with many key items and complete sets.
  • A comprehensive showing of Germany, German related areas and Colonies. There are many nice Zeppelin stamps and covers and a solid section of Third Reich.
  • Italy has a particularly good section of WWII patriotic postcards with many interesting and colourful designs.
  • United States with a nice range of 19th Century items many with Certificates including #8 used, #15 mint, #64 mint, #67 mint, and #101 mint.
  • Excellent Newfoundland from 19th Century classics up to 1940's. This section includes some Airmail rarities with #C1 mint, #C3c mint, #C4 De Pinedo cover, and #C5 Columbia cover. These all have Certificates.
  • Terrific array of larger size lots, collections, boxes full and estate holdings. These are always popular with both collections and dealers alike.
  • Great worldwide covers and postal history from stampless to modern. There are also hundreds of lots of interesting postcards.

All lots shipped to our American bidders will be sent TARIFF-FREE from our Buffalo, NY address.

Don't forget that there is No Buyer's Fee at Vance Auctions and bidding is in inexpensive Canadian dollars. There is no extra charge for credit card use. Bidding information is updated at Stamp Auction Network. Bidding on items in the sale will continue until Midnight EST on Wednesday, January 28, 2026.

Please note that bids come in from many sources in addition to SAN (including e-mail, telephone, fax, mail, and our own web site). Even if your bid is 'green' at SAN when bidding ends, you could still be outbid. If your bid turns 'red' after Midnight on the last night of bidding, it means that a higher bid was received from another source before Midnight. Auction results for Sale #378 will be posted at www.vanceauctions.com on the evening of Saturday, January 31st.
