Lot 1423 - 110L1, Chicago, Illinois, Moody's Penny Dispatch, 1856 (1c) Black on glazed red, vertical strip of three, o.g., each stamp showing a different variety after "Dispatch": period (Type Ia), colon (Tyle Ib), and comma (Type Ic), which correspond to positions 3/5/7 in Scott Trepel's plating of this issue (Chronicle Vol. 46, No. 4, November 1994), bright color with remarkably little of the oxidation so often seen on this type of paper, backstamped "SS&CCO."
