3232 imageFrench "Départements Conquis" (Conquered Departments) Stampless Covers, 1798/1818. 65 covers neatly arranged and annotated on homemade pages, nearly all Napoleonic War period and addressed to conquered areas in Italy or vice-versa, most with a black or red 2-line departmental "conquis" dispatch postmark and a few with ms ratings, destinations in Italy incl Parma, Genoa, Turin, Bologna, Modena, etc. also note 1798/1808 Brussels to France, 1801 Verviers to Switzerland, 1803 Cologne to Bordeaux, 1804 Frankfort to Bordeaux, 1806 Alexandria to Grenoble, 1811 Hamburg to St Quentin, 1811 to Bordeaux with crisp strike of elusive "100/ Kayserslautern" cancel, 1813 Rotterdam to Brieux, 1814 Coblentz to Trier, etc., a few minor faults (note some repairs to one cover) but an overall Very Fine collection with clear legible postmarks (Image 1)

3233 imageFrance Stampless Covers Collection, 1802/19, appealing collection of 114 folded letters neatly arranged and annotated on homemade pages, starts with an 1813 letter from Rome to Modena with "II6 Rome" conquis cancel and 2-line "30th Division" handstamp and continues with a wide array of soldiers letters, different mostly 2-line cancels, markings, ms ratings, postaman handstamp, arrival cds, etc., also note circular "Bureau Francaise/ Rome", 1808 cursive "Ministre/ De Cultes" plus red "Affranchi/ Par Etat", 1815 "Petite-Poste/ Bordeaux" local private post marking on locally addressed printed letter (in German), red framed "P.P.P.P." on letters travelling through Paris, etc., a few minor faults (they are over 200 years old) but an overall lovely collection with covers selected for freshness and quality of the marking, wonderful foundation collection for the era's (incl Napoleonic) postal history (Image 1)

3234 imageFrance Stampless Cover Collection, 1820/29, 114 folded letters neatly arranged and annotated on homemade pages and featuring a wide range of the 2-line postmarks of the period plus ms ratings, assorted Paris markings, circular arrival postmarks, occasional auxiliary marking, etc., note 1820 with 3-line handstamp of the French consul on incoming letter from Naples, 1823 incoming from London with red "Angleterre" handstamp, etc., a few minor faults but covers were carefully chosen for quality of the postmark and nearly every cover has a clear legible marking, Very Fine overall, view to appreciate (Image 1)
