Daniel F. Kelleher Auctions is proud to present our current public auction - Sale 639 - consisting of two single owner sales and our "Flagship Series Sale". This auction will be conducted in New York City in conjunction with Heritage Auctions at the prestigious Fletcher-Sinclair Mansion overlooking Central Park.

The catalogs comprising this auction are:

  • Catalog 1: The Dr. Kurt Benirschke Collection featuring important German States, Germany, German Offices, Colonies, Plebiscites, Occupations, Austria, Czechoslovakia, Paraguay and United States. Dr. Benirschke, a world-renowned pathologist and geneticist has assembled his lifelong collection with an ever deepening understanding and appreciation for the “art and science” of stamp collection. His native Germany, along with related Offices, Colonies, Plebiscites, Occupations and Old German States were his strongest passions. In addition to Germany, excellent collections of Austria, Czechoslovakia and Paraguay will be featured along with his very fine United States collection which includes some excellent rarities.
  • Catalog 2: The “Valentine” Collection of Quality United States. Philately is a unique hobby that has provided a lifetime of excitement, intrigue and charm to many of us. The basis of this collection has sown the seeds of that very tale. Mr. “Valentine” collected stamps as a boy returning to his passion later in life—but this time to form a classic U.S. collection full of pristine material, amazing condition, and with rarities such as a gorgeous Scott number 544.
