3877 49X1 imageConfederacy, Lenoir, N.C., 1861, 5¢ blue & orange (49X1), unused, four margins and full framelines all around, affixed to a piece of paper cut from the Lenoir postmaster's son's diary, the diary page dated Sept. 19, 1861 which is the date of issuance of the stamp, also included is a notarized affidavit from G. W. F. Harper, the assistant postmaster at the time and creator of the die used to print the Lenoir Postmaster Provisional., Extremely Fine, ex Caspary, Muzzy and Birkinbine; illustrated on Crown's Surveys of the Confederate Postmaster's Provisionals, 2009 P.F. certificate.
