Worldwide Internet/Mail Sale - March 19, 2025

Welcome to our March 19th, 2025 auction. This is our 373rd Auction since we started running our sales back in 1972. We have processed many nice estate lots, collections and accumulations over the last few months. As a result there are all kinds of interesting and better calibre singles, sets, varieties, proofs and covers to be found in the March 19th sale. Here are some of the highlights:

  • Good specialized section of Canada Large Queens (see Lots 4954-5049) with values from ½¢ to 15¢. These include shades, cancels, proofs, varieties, multiples, papers, watermarks, etc.
  • A nice range of 19th Century United States stamps and covers. These include many key items with Certificates and many great covers. The 2¢ Black Jack covers are particularly strong with many attractive items.
  • A strong section of Newfoundland including some Pence rarities and scarce 19th Century covers.
  • Interesting group of KGV Seahorse stamps from Great Britain plus Ireland overprinted types. The Ireland includes various printings, wide and narrow overprints, accent varieties and blocks.
  • Hundreds of fine lots of worldwide covers, postal history, and postcards. Virtually all of these lots are illustrated.
  • A terrific section of Italy stamps, covers, and postcards. This section also includes States, Aegean Islands, Trieste and Colonies.
  • Canada imperforates from 1920s-50s including pairs and blocks. This section includes some rare plate imprint blocks and plate blocks that have not been on the market in years.
  • Hundreds of larger lots including collections, box lots, accumulations, and dealer stocks. These are always popular with collectors and dealers alike.
  • Over 100 lots of coins including silver and gold types. This section also includes some ancient Greek and Roman coins as well as Canadian paper money.

Don't forget that there is No Buyer's Fee at Vance Auctions and bidding is in inexpensive Canadian dollars. There is no extra charge for credit card use. Bidding information is updated at Stamp Auction Network. Bidding on items in the sale will continue until Midnight EST on Wednesday, March 19, 2025.

Please note that bids come in from many sources in addition to SAN (including e-mail, telephone, fax, mail, and our own web site). Even if your bid is 'green' at SAN when bidding ends, you could still be outbid. If your bid turns 'red' after Midnight on the last night of bidding, it means that a higher bid was received from another source before Midnight.
