4815 ogO   CROATIA 1941-45 PERIOD SPECIALIZED COLLECTION.

5 well filled Lighthouse hingeless albums and, as ,with the other collections in this auction from the same collector, this represents the highly specialized in depth collection, mint and used, ,often focusing on non-Scott and non-Michel material, incorporating postal history in every album. The first volume begins with the definitives including 'Nezavisna Drzava Hrvatska' postal stationery used with shield o/p and regular definitive applied, also the key mint series small shield Michel #24-38 mint never hinged, all signed (cat 900&euro,). Further studies including p/cards, registered letters, postage dues etc. Then the 1941 pictorial definitives including all tete-beche, various perforation errors including imperf between, constant sheet varieties, blocks of 4 imperf, and much more including more complete sheets offsets etc and , this is all in the ,1st ,album. The ,2nd ,album continues in the same way, this time with illustrated FDCs, complete sheets, commems with red cross 1941, onto the 1942 airmails with the complete series Michel #70-#73 in sheets of 25 and 24 respectively, the latter with the red cross in center replacing the ,25th ,stamp, then imperfs, varieties, color trials, etc, etc. The 3rd album similarly with complete sheetlets, , further postal history including limited number presentation booklet, signed, as well as extensive perforation studies of the President Pavelic definitive issues of 1943 including color varieties, imperforates, censor mail, , followed by more commems in blocks of four of the June 1943 personality issue imperf, etc. The ,4th ,album inc the July legion issue color errors, imperforates including 'double images' pair, different colors etc. Also the 1943 the stamp expedition Zagreb study, with of course m/s, with and without o/ps and much more. , Then follows further red cross, the 1944 propagandas including fascinating proof sheets, color trial sheets, , more imperfs, well filling the album. The final ,5th ,album begins with the stormtroopers mint never hinged expertise, superb used, , both on and off cover, , dated the ,20th ,and ,21st ,January respectively, as well as all the other issues through to the final days of WW2, leading on to an extensive back of the book range with color trials and imperfs galore, as well as 'doprinos' including more postal history and errors etc. A wonderful , important collection very difficult to find such today, highly recommended.

4816 ogO   CROATIA, THE 1918 HRVATSKA ISSUE SPECIFICALLY FOR UNION WITH CZECHOSLOVAKIA, A SPECIALIZED STAMP AND POSTAL HISTORY COLLECTION IN 3 ALBUMS,

This collection is from the same collector that formed the specialised Croatia 1941 -1945 collections also in this auction. Certainly, this the 1918 period was a very challenging task to collect in such depth and of course goes way beyond the remit of Scott and Michel. It is housed in 3 lighthouse albums, mint and used, above all very well researched and written-up including material that is seldom seen or available on the market. Starting with the first series, the November 1918 set of 4 complete mint and used (Michel cat. 240&euro,), the mint all individually signed and the used with the ten fil and the 45 fil on piece signed, then the color trial 25 , fil in red signed, followed by different papers of the same series of each denomination, followed by pairs imperf. proofs in their final colors, again all signed. Then , the definitive 'HRVATSKA SHS' o/ps with for example the 6f which sets the template for so much of the other definitives with many kinds of misplaced overprints, overprints from subsequent series erroneously applied on various denomations, some of these are listed in Michel at 100&euro, each, yet most of them are not even listed at all including inverted overprints, double overprints, offsets and different types etc. Also there are some spectacular very visual items such as the imperforate 2f orange newspaper stamp in a sheet of 100 of which 8 are completely missing the overprints and another 8 have only partial overprints and another 6 have overprints on the reverse of the sheets! , Then the 2f olive and red with all kinds of errors, the Hungarian war help o/ps including the fantastic looking bluish paper mint block of 4, as well as white papers inverted overprints and double overprints on the 15f plus 2f violet, the 40f plus 2f rose overprint etc. Then follows key values white numbers Michel #62 the 10f red mint (cat 2000&euro,), an even scarcer double overprint of which one is inverted of the same stamp, minor toning on a few perfs mentioned only for accuracy&rsquo,s sake only, not detracting from the fact that this is a rare stamp. Then Michel #63 white numbers including a block of four of the 15 fil (cat 720&euro,), a very rare inverted overprint (signed), a double overprint again signed and also the cogwheel o/p from the 'Karl und Zita' issue. This continues with the crown definitives 'filled in' numerals, followed by an extensive study of the regular 1916/18 definitives including large multiple format showing the different settings and of course phenomenal errors of virtually every kind, interspersed with postal history, , similarly on the 'back of the book' with the postage due overprints on Hungary, including vertical overprints instead of horizontal etc. Then the 1919 January definitives in depth with several dozen imperforates spread over a range of different denominations cataloguing several thousand euro in this section alone. However, it is all the material not listed in the catalogues that gives this collection its essential character, a wonderful opportunity for the Croatian specialist.

4817 O   CROATIA USED VIRTUALLY COMPLETE 1941-1945 COLLECTION,

"I have the simplest taste" said Oscar Wilde, "I am always satisfied with the best". As with this specialised and mint Croatian collections in this auction, this is Croatia almost, if not complete used, again housed in a lighthouse album. , However this is a better album than the mint as there is postal history included, over and beyond the completion of this used collection, including commercial postal stationery with and without regular definitives for additional postage. Highlights include the stormtroopers miniature sheet Michel Block 8 cat 2200&euro, and the basic series #170 to #172 cat. 500&euro,, both on covers, the former with concentric circle ,9th ,of January 1945 cancel and the latter ,10th ,of January 1945, the sheet with expertisation signatures and cert from Romnerskircher and Dr. Boehne respectively. There are no empty spaces, in our opinion, , used is far more difficult to find than mint and the postal history too makes this well worth spending time on, page for page.

4825 og   imageCZECHOSLOVAKIA HRADRANY MISPRINTS EXTENSIVE COLLECTION.

An extraordinary collection of errors and misprints on the Hradcany issues, displayed on album pages, denomination by denomination from the 1h through to 400h. There are 130 stamps here, with reversed impressions, double prints, multiple colours, offsets, etc, virtually all one of a kind, including examples of the 75h dark green and 400h purple on thick paper, both with signatures. Some of these may of course have come &lsquo, out of the back door&rsquo, in the scramble to print their first independent issues, as a result of the dissolution of the Austro-Hungarian empire into separate nation states. , However there is much to be appreciated here in this excellent range of Hradcany types, certainly with proofs from the printers' archives, etc. Visually these are so spectacular that this collection is quite stunning, the potential here is , enormous.
