1806 (December 18th) Folded entire from Belfast to addressed to John Foster in Collon, Co. Louth, rated "10" and showing a superb strike in red on the "BELFAST" straight line hs, very fine.
Note: John Foster was returned in 1801 to the new United Kingdom parliament as a member for County Louth, and from 1804 to 1806 was Irish Chancellor of the Exchequer under Pitt. From 1807 to 1813 he was second Commissioner in the Irish Treasury and
from 1807 to 1812 one of the Lord Commissioners of the UK Treasury.(Image 1)

1808 (January) Folded entire per "ship Amman Liverpool" and showing the usage of a town name straight line "WEXFORD" in red, with a manuscript "Ship Letter", and put ashore at Wexford, probably due to bad weather, before proceeding
Liverpool, an important ship letter, showpiece. This is one of only three recorded usages of the Wexford Ship letter.
Rate: The cover is rated "7" (1d ship rate + 6d), and rerated 1/8 (7d + 1/1d combined) from the 3rd rate period.(Image 1)

1820 (January 21st) Folded entire sent from Drogheda to Amsterdam (Netherlands) written by "R. Cooke Sgt. Major 93d Regt" and prepaid to the border with red manuscript "Foreign 2-5 / Inland 4 / Total 2-9" on face. The letter shows the
distinctive circular black "POST PAID" of Drogheda in black, and matching "DROGHRDA / 24" 2-line town mileage, a black Dublin "PAID 22AU22 1820" in and unframed "LATE MAIL" of Dublin. On arriving in London the letter received a red London tombstone
"PAID 25 JA 25 1820" ds and was back stamped London Foreign Branch cds. F 20 / 106, and charged "10" the internal Dutch postage. the 4d inland postage was due to the Irish Post Office, a wonderful usage and full of character.(Image 1)
