1840 1d black pl.4 GH/HJ block of six (3 x 2), touched to large margins and showing portions of three adjoining stamps, neatly tied by red Maltese Cross cancellations to entire, dated 20 June 1840 addressed to Lincolnshire, blue Halifax
datestamp on the reverse, the lower strip affected by a pressed filing fold and small faults which hardly detract from the very fine appearance of this rare entire. Cert Scheller (2008).(Image 1)

1840 1d black pl.4 IA-IL, the magnificent complete horizontal row of twelve with large margins all round (touched in only two places), large part original gum; a few faults as to be expected of a multiple this size including ID torn in
two and re-joined, though in no way detracting from the stunning appearance of this incredibly rare exhibition quality multiple of which two complete rows exist from this plate, and this is the finer of the two. a major piece for the connoisseur.
