Lot 1353 - 1923, 1¢ Franklin, rotary press coil waste (Scott 594), a breathtaking example of this elusive stamp, Post Office fresh with light wavy line machine cancel, Extremely Fine, a Solo Top of the Pop; while SMQ values a used stamp at the grade of 90, the highest grade recorded in PSE's Population Report are two 85s, with 1955 and 2021 P.F. certificates, the latter graded XF 90.

US & Possessions, British and Worldwide Stamps & Postal History - November 13-16, 2023

One of our largest Flagship sales to date, boasting over 2000 lots and spanning four days with interests covering many areas. Select British, BNA with enticing Canada, Europe with a nice selection of classic Swiss, and a once-in-a-lifetime St. Pierre & Miquelon with unique varieties round out the globe.

United States with 1,245 lots, many of which have certificates and are graded (those that are not have potential for grading), along with Interesting postal history. Essays, Trial Colors, Proofs and Specimens abound throughout, featuring a choice bottom margin set of the 1869 Inverts, Roosevelt Proof sets, $5 Freedom (#573) Essays and Large Die Proofs, Lexington-Concord Large Die Proofs (#617-619) and interesting photo essays.

1847 issues with multiples and on-cover uses with many varieties representing the various printings, 1851-1857 coverage with multiples, 1861 with many useful including 3¢ Scarlet, 1869 plentiful with incredible 90¢ in both regularly issued and Special Printing, Banknotes beginning with Grills and all Companies’ examples shown, Small Banknotes including key values. The Columbians & Trans-Mississippi issues on are extremely well represented with many high-grade items. Washington-Franklins to satisfy the most picayune collector, with very nice mint examples of the 4¢ (#360) and 8¢ (#363) bluish papers, with all values represented, followed by an astounding array of each issue with superlative coils including a selection of private perfs and later coil waste issue (#594) in a high grade, missing from the most advanced collections.

Further 20th Century issues with specialized National Parks including the Peckmore Prints and other varieties. Plate Blocks from several quality collections which include the finest set of full top wide margin Zeppelins (#C13-15) we have had the pleasure to offer, with many other key values. Airmails include many singles, sets and varieties.

Back-of-the-Book boasts seldom-offered Officials, Newspapers with a lovely imprint block of 6 (#PR1), and additional Revenues. Confederates with many highest-grade singles.

US Possessions include 284 lots of Hawaii with many interesting and specialized items.
