We are honored to present Richard F. Larkin’s exceptional collection of US and Possessions booklets and panes. Born in Staten Island, NY, in 1942, Richard received his AB from Harvard in 1964 and his MBA from Harvard Business School in 1968. Following graduation, he served two years in the Peace Corps in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, worked for Price Waterhouse & Co. for 32 years, and retired from BDO Seidman (now BDO USA) in 2020 after a 20-year career. His interests are wide-ranging, spanning choral singing and genealogy to travel and photography.

1937 (May 7) Grenko Hindenburg Crash Mail, the airship Hindenburg was landing at Lakehurst NJ with passengers and 17,500 pieces of mail when it caught fire and burst into flames; as one of only 384 pieces that could be identified, this Registered letter was one of two sent by Niedermann mailed in Munich to D Grenko; the address was lost due to fire damage so this Munich Telegraph Office registry label #570 was returned to Frankfurt by ship; the letter was mailed April 29th with a 2....Estimate $7,500-10,000
