1867, coat of arms 18 Kr. vermilion, full to mostly large margins as well as 1 Kr. green, 3 Kr. rose and 6 Kr. brown, the latter all in so-called 'Zwergschnitt', with neat DKr. "NÜRNBERG 28 JUN. 1870" on complete folded cover to Yokohama; reverse transit postmark of Hong Kong and blue arrival datestamp of the British postoffice of Yokohama. Very attractive and fresh condition, especially for this destination. Letters from the old German states to Japan are extremely scarce; only one other letter from Bavaria carried via Trieste is registered, the one offered here with a four-colour franking is unique.

1867, Wappen 18 Kr. zinnoberrot, voll- bis meist breitrandig sowie 1 Kr. grün, 3 Kr. rosa und 6 Kr. braun, letztere alle im sogenannten 'Zwergschnitt', mit sauberem DKr. "NÜRNBERG 28 JUN. 1870" auf komplettem Faltbrief nach Yokohama; rückseitig Transitstempel von Hongkong sowie blauer Ankunftsstempel des britischen Postamtes von Yokohama. Sehr schöne und frische Erhaltung, insbesondere für diese Destination. Briefe der altdeutschen Staaten nach Japan sind außerordentlich selten; von Bayern ist nur ein weiterer Brief über Triest befördert registriert, der hier angebotene mit einer Vierfarben-Frankatur ist einmalig.
