2254 c ImageNew Orleans La., 5c Red Brown on Bluish (62X4). Horizontal pair, large to huge margins, rich color, tied by two "Paid" handstamps, "New Orleans La. 31 Aug." (1861) circular datestamp on cover to Lebanon Tenn., red and blue 11-Star Confederate Flag cut out and glued to upper left corner -- we cannot be certain if this is contemporary to mailing or a later addition (therefore, "as is") -- cover has tear at right, missing most of top flap, pair is Extremely Fine, ex Hall, a similar cover is illustrated in the Wishnietsky book (Fig. 113), Scott value for pair on cover is $700.00 (Image)
