Printed frank (Thomas EVD-001) on 3c Red on Buff Nesbitt entire (U10) addressed to San Francisco, paste-up conjunctive use, cover pasted to other side handstamped with blue "Pacific Express Co. Marysville Jun. 12" oval datestamp, to San Francisco, couple edge flaws on paste-up, some overall wrinkling and soiling, otherwise Fine, Frank Darwin Everts was involved in a string of partnerships over his long career as an expressman, from May 1855 until sometime in 1856 he operated as Everts, Davis & Co., they connected with Pacific Express at Marysville, examples of this frank are scarce and particularly desirable showing the Pacific conjunctive use (Image)
