Three, one 1931 cover franked with 1922 -1/2p-3p (1-5) tied by oval registry cancels to Chicago, also 1924 4p and 6p (15, 17; two of the most difficult stamps of the set to find in used condition) tied by light circular datestamp on 1929 cover to Colorado, and St. Helena 1924 1sh6p (88) on 1929 cover to Colorado (same correspondence as previous cover), all with registry labels and proper backstamps, first cover has blue crayon mark affecting two stamps, otherwise Very Fine (Image)

Well-centered example tied on front only by proper "First Aerial Mail Great Britain to Australia 26 Feb 1920" oval flight datestamp, with "Per Vickers Vimy Aeroplane to Australia" handstamps, Very Fine, on November 12, 1919, Ross Macpherson Smith, Keith Smith, J. M. Bennett and W. H. Shiers left London in a Vickers Vimy aircraft and arrived in Darwin on December 10, Smith telegraphed the Australian prime minister requesting a commemorative stamp be issued, and this commemorative label was designed by A.I.F. war artist Lieutenant Benson, a total of 576 labels were made 346 of which were attached to incoming mail carried on the trip (Image)

FINE. A RARE EXAMPLE OF THE 96-CENT OLIVE GRAY. ONE OF THE RAREST STAMPS FROM THE BRITISH POST OFFICES IN SIAM.

The British Post Office in Bangkok came about in May 1882 due to the level of demand, mainly from merchants, and was stationed within their consulate. Prior to this, mail was sent via diplomatic pouches to Singapore (Straits Settlements) where the letters were placed in the mail. This continued until 1885 when Siam joined the U.P.U. and assumed mail functions.
