Walker) in Washington, reverse with small piece missing from opening, still Very Fine and choice stamp and use, Robert J. Walker was a prominent pro-slavery and expansionist Mississippi senator and secretary of the treasury under James K. Polk from 1845-49, he remained a staunch Unionist during the Civil War and as a result Texas renamed Walker County, which had been named in his honor, for Samuel Walker, a Texas Ranger (Image)
