Type A with the additional roll in the letter "C", Position 12, huge margins to full at top left, tied by neat blue pen strokes, blurry strike of red "New-York 5 cts. 12 Dec." integral-rate circular datestamp and matching "Paid" arc handstamp on folded cover to "The Secretary of the Treasury" (Robert J. Walker) in Washington, reverse with small piece missing from opening, still Very Fine and choice stamp and use, Robert J. Walker was a prominent pro-slavery and expansionist Mississippi senator and secretary of the treasury under James K. Polk from 1845-49, he remained a staunch Unionist during the Civil War and as a result Texas renamed Walker County, which had been named in his honor, for Samuel Walker, a Texas Ranger (Image)
