1921 c Captain Hannibal Nimms, Civil War Correspondence. Binder with approximately 93 letters from 1st Lt. and then Capt. Hannibal Nimms mostly to his wife Harriet in Lexington Mich., wonderful range of content with lengthy field and campaign descriptions, many covers included but Mrs. Nimms opened them roughly so nearly all are defective, the letters are intact and Very Fine, also with some related material incl. the Nimms' 1863 wedding certificate and his appointment as 1st Lt. signed by the Governor of Michigan in 1861, an outstanding group with background research file included, unfortunately the Nimms' marriage was not destined to be a long one, as Capt. Nimms was wounded at Jonesboro Ga. on Sep. 1, 1864 and died the next day
