Old-Time Mint and Used Worldwide Collection in Two Albums, 1859-1930s, including 46 correspondence letters to and from the collector during the 1930s. The collection begins with a Schwanebergers album, containing many hundreds of stamps, with strength in France, Germany, and North American countries, noting better Canada with Scott #s 14, 17-19 (used, c.v. $640 total), 51-57 (m.h., $692 total), 58-60 (used, $570 total), along with USA #291 50c Trans-Mississippi (used, $175). The lot continues with a Scott International album, 1901-1916 Edition, containing a few hundred stamps, with a spot check indicating a few stamps cataloguing $5 and higher, noting some nice town postmarks. The personal correspondence consists of mainly overseas letters from stamp dealers to the collector (many still having the enclosure), noting letters from Germany, Switzerland, France, China, etc., along with letters from the collector to foreign stamp dealers including a 1937 letter from Canada to Belgium, refused and returned with 1.40Fr Belgium postage due franking.
